CHAMS Nigeria Limited is to deploy 30,000 ChamsAccess multipurpose service terminals by the end of 2007, even as Wema Bank Plc has expressed partnership interest, deploying two of the terminals.
Wema also becomes the first banking institution to patronize ChamsAccess in the country.
ChamsAccess service terminals are multipurpose Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), used in purchasing of airtime for mobile phones to flight tickets as well as in checking Joint Admission and
Matriculation results electronically known as Jambites Online.
Unveiling the services at Wema Bank headquarters, the Managing Director, Alhaji Adeleke Alade, expressed interest in the bank partnering with Chams to fasten the deployment nationwide.
Chief executive of Chams, Mr. Demola Aladekomo, assured the bank his firm’s readiness, said his office is already outlining plans to deploy a 3,000 of ChamsAccess machines before December this year, while the remaining 27,000 would be deployed before the end of next year.
He also said that Chams would be deploying the machines along with personnel to assist customers wishing to use it for some times to come.
He pointed out that it would also be deployed at airports nationwide.
Assistant General Manager, Marketing at Chams, Mrs. Nike Bajomo said a lot could be done with ChamsAccess multipurpose terminals.
These include internet browsing, purchase of airtime of any denomination, even as there is room for specific adverts and customization for companies who so desire.
General Manager, Chams, Mr. Eniola Bolarin, assured that the systems have inbuilt Uninterrupted Power System (UPS) that could last two hours if public power supply is disrupted, even as it could be deployed to use solar energy.
Mr. Bolarin also pointed out that ChamsAccess multipurpose machines have been built to offer services 24 hours in a day and seven days a week.
