LG introduces U800 mobile phone

LG Electronics is taking mobiles to the next level with the introduction of its LG U880, a 3G music phone.

According to the firm, this special edition designed by Roberto Cavalli, the Italian born world class fashion designer has already received excellent reviews from the worldwide, just as it was recognized as ‘The Best in Test’ by leading Swedish handset magazine ‘Mobile’.

The South China Morning Post, a prestigious pan-Asian daily based in Hong Kong, introduced the LG U-880 as a visible improvement on 3G phones in terms of size.

The model, which was released last November, is about to record LG’s fourth million-seller hit and the newly-released Cavalli edition is expected to accelerate sales.

The LG-U880 is only 18.2mm thick and is equipped with sophisticated multimedia features to suit fashion-conscious trendsetters.

With large memory capacity, LG said, users could store more than 20 MP3 songs.

The model also supports a 1.3 mega-pixel camera, video telephony, T-Flash external memory and Bluetooth.

General Manager, Mobile Communications, LG Electronics, Mr. S.K Park speaking on the special edition handset said “The launch of the LG-U880 special edition reflects our leading position in 3G not only with advanced technology but also with design. With the launch of such a premium model, our goal is to position LG Mobile as premium in the industry.”

LG, he noted, is the industry leader in Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technology and has the received 3G CDMA Industry awards in the mobile handsets category from CDG, an international consortium of CDMA technology based manufacturers and service providers around the world in 2005.
