Reacting to this development, Mr. Van Elk noted that the success of the website, launched penultimate Tuesday, was a milestone for the company.
“Particularly on the skeptic that the web environment is not particularly right for local marketing due to the problems associated with Internet operations in Nigeria,” he declared.
Mr. Van Elk also said that the success of the website is an indication that value of combining both web and traditional marketing is gradually becoming a success story in this part of the world.
Thus, he said, the airline plans to use both mediums aggressively to promote Arik as an airline that aims to surpass existing local standards in the industry by adhering to European Safety standards throughout the operation.
