Globacom Limited, the Second National Operator (SNO), has advanced plans to officially launch its coverage marketing campaign with the theme, We Live Where You Live, in three cities, beginning with Lagos, Thursday this week.
Globacom sources said that thereafter the campaign would be launched in Port Harcourt on October 31 and in Abuja on November 2, 2006.
Press statement from the operator, said the Lagos flag-off ceremony will hold at the Women Development Centre, Agege and will be followed by a tour of communities in the South-West.
The statement added that the campaign will be taking place in phases over a period of three weeks, during which time, officials of the company will be engaging the respective communities in brand awareness and enlightenment initiatives, intended to entrench the people-sensitive spirit of the Glo brand, with the aim of creating stronger bonds of affinity with Glo subscribers and the entire citizenry.
Globacom’s chief operating officer (COO), Mr. Mohammed Jameel said the campaign was conceptualised to capture Glo’s extensive coverage of urban cities, rural communities and road networks across the country.
“It is the story of a world-class company with an eye on the grassroots,” he declared.
He also informed that members of the Globacom family will be embarking on a tour of rural communities across the six geo-political zones within the next couple of days, to enable residents of these communities interact with the brand on a one-to-one basis.
Globacom, he said, is perceived as an indigenous telecommunications company that has kept its brand promise of providing affordable telecom services and helping Nigerians to excel, especially to those in the rural communities and facilitating their participation in the global market.
“Since launch the company has led the vanguard for the downward review of SIM acquisition and service costs, forcing down the cost of GSM lines from N20,000 to about N200 today” he asserted.
