Kotoye named CEO @ SmartSwitch

NEwly registered cashless solution provider, SmartSwitch Nigeria Limited, has named a computer expert, Mr. Olatokunbo Kotoye, its chief executive, just as Mr. Kelechi Dozie becomes the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

The company, set up in June 2006, as collaboration among some Nigerian blue-chip companies including Diamond Bank Limited, Innovative Capital and Investment Limited and Net 1 UEPS Technologies Incorporated, a South Africa based company.

The new Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kotoye, obtained a Bsc (Hons) degree in Computing Studies from the Southbank University, London and Masters in Business Systems Analysis and Design from the City University, London. He equally has an advanced diploma in Computing from the United States.

He began his career as a consultant in London with CWB Systems Services, a specialist financial technology consultancy company and later worked with NatWest Markets, one of the largest investment banks in London.

In 1995, he set up Creative Telecoms and Technologies, a service company that specializes in providing a broad range of quality systems solutions to many banks and financial institutions.

On the other hand, the new CMO, Mr. Dozie holds a Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina in the United States, and commenced his career at the Cash Management department of Standard Chartered Bank of Nigeria.

A member of CIMA and CPI, Mr. Dozie, has worked through various departments including cash management, leaving the banking industry as head of payment services department of Diamond Bank Plc with a move on to Smartswitch.

SmartSwitch Nigeria, is anticipated to resume full operations by 1st quarter of 2007, as it intends to provide unique and intelligent electronic payment system using the Universal Electronic Payment System (UEPS) technology platform pioneered by Net 1, targeting the un-banked and under-banked populations in the country.
