Tinubu, Nweke root for Titans of Tech

THE Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and the Information and Communications Minister, Mr. Frank Nweke jnr, have been confirmed to grace the forthcoming Titans of Tech, scheduled to hold this Friday, April 6 in Lagos.

According the event coordinator, Mr. Don Pedro Aganbi informed that this duo are expected to lead other delegates to the event billed for Sheraton Hotel and Towers Ikeja-Lagos.

He also said that the event which is part of activities to mark the 10 years anniversary of ICT Africa, a weekly television programme on NTA, is a way of hosting a historical individuals, organizations and institutions who have contributed personally and collectively in moving the industry forward up to this moment.

Mr. Aganbi equally said that the event is like a hall of fame on ‘who’ has done ‘what’ in the development of Information Communication Technologies in Nigeria.

“It would serve as historical platform where others can come and add up in future,” he said.

The coordinator further said that Titans of Tech night is unique due to its organisation and execution.

“What may eventually take prominent feature is the rapid pace, which the use of modern technologies has penetrated the life of Nigerians,” he said.

As said by him, incidentally, ICT Africa have survived 10-years in an odd business climate like Nigeria, “is a testimony of the fact to how fast technologies have permeated an otherwise third world country like Nigeria within a shortest inestimable time.”

Nigerians, he noted, deserve to know the pioneers of the IT and Telecom sector that has transformed the country’s economy, but the real people who paid the price must not escape full historical documentation.

Hence, Titans of tech night tends to provide unquestionable industry players who have really braved the odds to achieve this feat.

“The event is an opportunity to celebrate the men and women, organizations and institutions who are the driving force of the tremendous wind of technological change that has engulfed our nation – Nigeria. The world as we know it today runs on Information and communications technologies (ICTs). And the deployment of ICTs now pervades every sector of human existence from health to education, to business and even government. Nigeria is no exception to this global trend,” he said.
