Imasuen applauds Celtel’s customer-centric practice

The Edo State Deputy Governor, Mr. Lucky Imasuen, has applauded Celtel Nigeria over its customer-centric approach to service delivery.

He said that the company has demonstrated a strong commitment to satisfying its customers in the state by making concerted effort towards bringing its services closer to the people.

Mr. Imasuen who spoke at the commissioning of Celtel’s new consumer contact point in Benin, Edo State capital, said Celtel is the first mobile network operator in the country to establish and commission additional customer contact point in the state.

He noted that telecom as a vital service is very crucial to the new administration in the state in its quest to communicate the rich potentials of the state to the world.

The event, attended by government functionaries, traditional rulers, Celtel business partners and the media, saw Mr. Imasuen represented by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Calus Enona.

He enjoined Celtel to broaden its presence in the state by expanding its services in order to connect new customers, describing the network as “one of the best in the country”.

He appealed to Celtel to employ more indigenes of the state as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme, adding “the State government will create an enabling environment for Celtel to operate without hindrance.”

Earlier in his speech, Celtel’s General Manager, South South Region, Saeta Ukpemo, said the telco has created jobs for many people across the country through its operations.

He explained that the newly commissioned Celtel Shop would assist the mobile operator attend to the needs of mobile phone users in the state.

Ukpemo who was represented by the company’s Head of Business Support, Division, South South Region, Ime Uko, said the entry of the Pan African mobile operator, Celtel International, into the Nigeria telecom market a little over a year ago has brought a lot of positives to the country.

“Our presence has led to the downward review of the tariffs, greater competition, and strategic redirection of priorities and marketing tactics by several operators”, he said.
