Seagull partners banks to drive VoIP

Emerging telecommunications company, Seagull Global Limited is partnering with two Nigerian banks to drive its offering of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony product known as WizeTalk.

Chief Executive, Seagull Global Limited, Mr. Bola Sijuwade, while disclosing this to Champion Infotel at a media session in Lagos, said that his firm is collaborating with two banks, namely the Oceanic Bank International Plc and Diamond Bank Plc to boost the roll out of the telco’s offering.

As said by him, Seagull for instance, is advancing plans to deploy its Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) infrastructure in the South Eastern part of the country in partnership with Diamond Bank Plc with a proposed landing point in Uzuakoli town in Imo State.

He also said that this would be replicated in other parts of the country in effort to build its own wireless infrastructure nationwide.

He explained that presently Seagull has customer accounts with the two banks to facilitate ease payment structure for its subscribers instead of always coming to Seagull’s office.

Prospective customers interested in any of Seagull’s solutions, , he said, should approach any branch of Oceanic Bank International Plc nationwide and make remittances into the company’s account.

He added that the same service is available for its customers who are disposed to Diamond Bank, especially those interested in its Sipura offering.

He explained that with Sipura 2100 VoIP gateway device, subscribers tend to benefit from multiple value added service (VAS) as soon as they pay for the equipment, activation in addition to recurring charges respectively, which is not in excess of N45,000.

Mr. Sijuwade also said subscribers would benefit from Voice mail notification via electronic mail, call waiting, call forwarding, multi-party calls conference, call blocking, call filter, music on hold, repeat dial, speed dial, wake-up call, find me- follow me, anonymous call rejection, black listing and call roaming.

He also said that Seagull offers free customer care services, stressing that the monthly charge paid, subscribers have unlimited access while outgoing calls cost 35 kobo per minute to any part of the world.

He equally said that Seagull’s WizeTalk is accessible in 34 countries of the world and could even be used to call mobiles in five countries including United Kingdom, United States, Canada among others.

“We’re just poised to achieve our aims of making calls cheaper for Nigerians,” he declared.
