Digitplus, Twinmos enter hardware pact

One of the nation’s emerging Information Technology (IT) company, Digitplus Nigeria Limited and Taiwan-based Twinmos, have entered into hardware solution pact.

Disclosing this, the chief executive, Digitplus, Mr. Oladapo Esomojumi said that the deal would afford his company to provide various suites of hardware solutions based on Twinmos as its sole partner in the country.

Mr. Esomojumi whose firm has outlets in Abuja and Lagos, noted that in the past seven years has been actively involved in computer solutions provision to government institutions, embassies, private sector companies including banks and educational institutions.

He stressed that his firm’s bundled partnerships with other major players in the Asia and Middle East market, such as Golden Systems of Iran and Dubai based Hadian General Trading, has enabled Digitplus to expand the market for Gigabyte and Axper motherboards particularly at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja and other northern cities where Digitplus commands a large list of individual and corporate clients.

He pointed out that the new partnership would equally afford Digitplus to consolidate on its presence in the nation’s Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) market place.

“Our new partnership will help us to consolidate on our presence in the market where we have maintained a large list of satisfied customers in the last seven years,” Mr. Esomojumi asserted, adding that Digitplus has been able to sustain its presence in the market and retain traditional customers through services based on philosophy that money is truly earned when the customer is satisfied with the product or service.

Digitplus, which recently opened discussions with Dubai based Almasa IT Distribution at the just ended Gitex 2007, he said, is working hard to seal a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that would facilitate the pushing of AMD processors, Asrock motherboards from Hong Kong and memories from the major manufacturers in the United States (US) with whom Almasa, an IT trading giant, already has partnership.

“We opened discussions with Almasa IT in Dubai during Gitex 2007 because we believe they could partner with us in meeting some of the rising need for hardware solutions in Nigeria where growth in various sectors has necessitated an unprecedented increase in the deployment of IT,” said Esomojumi.

Gitex is the premier event in the Middle East and gateway to Asia, which is increasingly becoming an important trading partner with Nigeria.

An estimated 3,000 IT and communications companies from 75 countries exhibited at the event organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) last year.
