FunAfric.com makes a debut

A Lagos-based FunAfric, has launched its website www.funafric.com, with a focus to promote music artistes and their works across the continent.

Speaking at the event held in Lagos recently, the General Manager, FunAfric, Mrs. Aramide Paul-Taiwo, noted that it would avail a unique platform for African music and videos to be downloaded easily.

According to her, top recording labels such as Sony Music, Premier Records, Westside Music, Storm Records among others have already entered deal with FunAfric to make available their musicals on funafric.com, even as some have been already uploaded.

She also disclosed that Funafric has advanced plans to enter deals with several recording labels on the continent.

This, she said, would give a boost to the penetration and acceptance of the module within Africa.

African, she said, now has a voice on the world wide web and that voice is www.funafric.com.

She added that FunAfric as the first dedicated African music and video download service based in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, that every avenue have been put in place to ensure that it provides genuine content, which would be in line with stakeholders in the music industry and promoted globally to Africans.

A director of the company and spokesman, Mr. Ayo Bankole, said that Funafric is the outcome of two years of hard work by web developers, business managers, internationals payment platforms, records labels collecting societies, artistes, banks, lawyers and other stakeholders in the industry. Funafric.com, he said, is now the number one destination for African music and videos on the Internet.

He emphasised that customers could now buy music by using their MasterCard, Visa card or InterSwitch card safely on the Internet.

He also said that with huge investments in robust digital security protocols to ensure that the cardholders can use his card safely and that the music and video are protected, Funafric’s operation is also open to right owners to monitor their content.
