The event tagged “Celtel welcome party for Corp Members”, was organized and sponsored by Celtel Nigeria to provide the NYSC members for 2007, the opportunity to unwind, interact and have fun after a tedious week of rigorous activities at the Ipaja, Lagos, Camp.
A press statement endorsed by him, quoted the Trade Marketing Manager, Lagos, Mainland Region, Celtel Nigeria, Mr. Sunny Ekhalume.
Corp members were excited by the sensational hip pop star, Weird MC, Top Idols Stars: Eric Arubayi and Omawunmi Megbele, among others stars
Equally, Mr. Ekhalume noted that the corps members were equally given the opportunity to win prizes through a dancing competition.
The winners of the dancing competition were selected by the Corps members who were allowed to make their choice of the best dancers through a voice vote.
At the end of the dance competition, Jonathan Okpor, Onyinyechi Ukaogo and Atuenyi Kennedy emerged winners of the contest, while other winners were rewarded with Nokia handsets.
Also, the corps members were offered more opportunity to win prizes through a series of games.
The winners of the contests were presented with Nokia phones and recharges cards.
The group’s performance ushered in Eric Arubayi, and Omawunmi Megbele, the fourth runners up and the first runner up respectively of the popular West Africa Idols sponsored by Celtel.
There performance lifted the crowd to another level of elation. Eric did the popular ‘End of the Road’ by Boys 2 Men, even as Omawunmi did a song ‘I will survive’ by Gloria Gaynor.
Omawunmi, easily a crowd’s darling any day attracted a lot of attention from the audience as danced from one end of the stage to another in her well fitted pair of black pair of low trousers.
The show was brought to a climax by the performance of Weird MC. She took the audience on a long thrilling musical journey with the track ‘Allen Avenue.’
