HP introduces Blade solutions for SMEs

Hewlett Packard (HP) Nigeria, has introduced new products with focus on providing solutions and services specifically to assist the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the country, known as HP Blade System c3000.

HP Enterprise Business Manager, Mr. Chukwuma Okpaka, informed that the product comes as great help to the world’s midsize companies numbering over 500,000 globally in accelerating growth and reduce operating costs.

He pointed out that key factor of the “Shorty,” but compact HP BladeSystem c3000 is that it encloses smaller technology sites, branch offices and remote locations, stressing that implementation of the c3000 requires no special power, cooling or staff, therefore, easing midsize customers’ ability to gain the benefits of a fully bladed environment.

Also, HP used the occasion to unveil its StorageWorks All-in-One SB600c Storage Blade, which Okpaka said works in both the new c3000 and the existing HP BladeSystem c7000.

He said that additionally, HP has released new application “blueprints” called HP Solution Blocks, offering simplified and accelerate integration of multiple application and data protection solutions into the new c3000 enclosure.

According to him, recent HP research indicated that two-thirds of SMEs want technology offerings that meet their needs and are created just for them. Even as almost 90 per cent of senior business and technology executives at midsize companies say their company is doing more with less by using technology.

Mr. Okpaka, equally said the new products, backed by a set of HP care pack services, expand HP’s Adaptive Infrastructure portfolio, which helps customers of all sizes to benefit immensely from an infrastructure tailored to meet their business requirements.

Equally speaking on the latest products, Ann Livermore, executive vice president, Technology Solutions Group, HP said that midsize customers do not want watered down enterprise solutions, but “… complete solutions built uniquely to address their needs.”
