Speaking last weekend at the 28th Kano international trade fair as part of programmes and activities marking the ‘MTN Day’ at the world famous Kano International Trade Fair, he urged the telco not to relent on its CSR.
While giving kudos to MTN for the unrivalled roles in the area of CSR in the country, the Emir said, “I take special delight in the popular TV programme, ‘Dandalin Tashi Mu Taimeke Ka’ and I urge MTN to continue in this regard.”
Welcoming the Emir to the stand, the Regional Marketing Manager, North, Mr. Abubakar Shehu, who represented the Senior Manager, Trade Market, MTN Nigeria, noted that MTN’s involvement in the Kano International Trade fair is to partner with the good and industrious people of the North West and enhance commercial activities that Kano is known for.
“Our aim of coming to participate in this fair is to showcase the benefits of using MTN as a vehicle that enables you, the good people of Northern Nigeria attain your goals and aspirations, bearing in mind the commercial activities that goes on here which makes this city the heart of Northern Nigeria,” he said.
The vice president, Kano Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture, Alhaji Ahmed Rabiu, equally at the stand, eulogised MTN for its efforts in giving back to the society through its corporate social responsibility initiatives especially in the Northern part of the country. adding that KACCIMA will always contribute its quota to seeing that such moves are encouraged.
He emphasised the continuation of the TV programme called ‘Dandalin Tashi Mu Taimeke Ka’. A family economic empowerment programme as most people who have participated in the show are known to have won various prizes.
