XtraConnect gives hope to orphans

Nigeria’s largest telecommunications service provider, MTN Nigeria, through its family and friends platform. MTN XtraConnect, has given smiles and hope to the orphanages around the country, reports UGOCHI NKWOCHA.

The telecom giant extended its benevolence to the society through visitations to some orphanages located at Surulere and the Lagos State Motherless Babies Home, Lekki.

Speaking on the visit, the marketing manager, Lagos region, MTN Nigeria, Mrs. Titi Olubiyi, said that MTN intends to bring hope to the less privileged and ensure that they are not left out of the joy of Christmas.

“Our visit to the motherless babies homes is a project that is very dear to our heart. Today we visited one on the main land and then we visited another one on the island at Lekki, which is being managed by the Lagos State government,” she said.

Mrs. Olubiyi added that MTN wanted them to know that they are also part of the community and should not be left behind in all the fun and celebration of the festive season.

She further disclosed that each orphanage received as much as ten bags of rice, five cartons of oil, bournvita, peak milk and lots of toys for the children play with this season.

She also added that MTN XtraConnect brand hosted families to an exciting Christmas party on Christmas day at LTV 8 grounds in Agindigbi.

Over the years, MTN Nigeria has proved to be a responsible corporate citizen and has made positive impact virtually in every aspect of people’s lives.

This act of benevolence, she noted, has shown that they are leaders in every aspect of corporate practice.
