Speaking at the occasion, tagged ‘Predictive Enterprise’ experts from HP and Intel jointly demonstrated how to multiply PC defense in depth and maximize security compliance in a collaboration that will translate into powerful management solutions through enabling businesses to take advantage of advanced PC capabilities.
Country Category Manager, HP in Nigeria, Mrs Tarae Onyeje, said that the new Intel vPro technology, would run on the HP desktop PCs and avails users the ability to configure, identify, repair and protect their PCs even when the operating system is down.
This solution, she said, offers foolproof security, manageability and mobility for effective IT-based business operations.
The vPro technology, she added, is a platform that would help financial sector players deploy robust IT systems which will provide secure and efficient IT infrastructure ready to match the attendant challenges and the rapid growth of the industry.
Mrs. Onyeje stated that HP has worked closely with Intel to deliver a product with seamless integration on cutting-edge technologies.
“Our current desktop offering vPro technology-Hp Compaq dc7800 is our most secure and most manageable desktop,” she said, adding that currently, they are offering vPro on dc7800 desktop.
“We are excited to continue our momentum with the introduction of five new mobile notebook platforms this year, namely 2510p, 2710p, 6910p, 8510p/w, and 8710p/w,” she said.
With HP as the undisputed leading provider of Intel vPro Technology, she said that very soon, Intel Centrino Pro would be included in the package.
“We have a great opportunity to harness the HP/Intel differentiation to increase our value proposition,” she added.
Equally speaking, Marketing Development Manager, Intel Nigeria, Mr. Babajide Olufemi said that in today’s business operations and environment, “the task of deploying, maintaining and updating PCs is not only challenging but increasingly complex,” noting that business desktops and notebooks with Intel vPro tech provide down-the-wire proactive security and manageability capabilities, even for PCs whose power or operating systems are down.
“These PCs include virtualisation capabilities that allow IT managers to enhance isolation of problem third-party applications,” he said.
According to him, “PCs with vPro technology feature dual-core processors that deliver significantly improved performance for compute-intensive tasks; all in a power-efficient package.”
Mr. Olufemi pointed out that PCs built with this revolutionary tech, IT administrators could quickly identify and contain security threats, heal systems and remotely deploy critical software patches 56 per cent faster.
