Certain optional Toolbar features operate by sending Google the addresses or other information about sites when you visit them.
Web History, PageRank, and Safe Browsing in Enhanced Mode all work this way. In addition, if you use Safe Browsing, when Google warns you about a suspicious site we may also log that site’s URL and whether you accepted, rejected, or closed the warning message. We will let you know when you are enabling a feature that automatically sends page addresses to Google, and you can turn these features off at any time.
* Features that work by sending Google your requests for additional information may also send small amounts of data to Google at the time of use.
For example, Translate and SpellCheck work by sending text to be translated or spell-checked, and AutoLink works by sending Google page text (such as addresses or ISBN numbers) for which AutoLink information is available.
The “Backward Links” and “Similar Pages” features request more information about a page by sending the page’s address to Google.
These features are not active and will not send data to Google unless you click on a Toolbar button to enable them, or hover over words to translate them.
• SMS: This and other features that let you transmit data from the Toolbar may log that data transmission, as explained in the frequently asked questions (FAQ).
