Interswitch, GTBank, 4 others get Postilion awards

Leading provider of integrated solutions for payments and self-service banking, Postilion, has presented InterSwitch Limited, GTBank and four other Nigerian banks with awards in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

The awards were presented by the Senior Vice President and General Manager, Postilion Africa, Deon van Biljon, during the Techno-Interactive Conference organised by InterSwitch at the Metropolitan in Calabar, south-south part of the country.

ITRealms Online recalls that over 22 banks in Nigeria now process electronic transactions on a Postilion platform operated by InterSwitch, where inter-bank transaction switching takes place.

The categories included award for adoption, which went to the United Bank for Africa Plc, for showing the greatest adoption of electronic funds transfer products. While the award for growth went to Intercontinental Bank Plc for witnessing the highest percentage growth in transaction volumes over the past year.

Equally, Platinum Habib Bank Plc (Bank PHB), got its award for being the bank with the greatest improvement in ranking based on transaction volumes in the past year.

In addition, award for consistently demonstrating professional operations management was captured by the Guaranty Trust Bank Plc. Even as First Bank Nigeria Plc, received the innovation outstanding results award.

According to van Biljon, through these awards, Postilion wanted to recognize the tremendous achievements in building state-of-the-art infrastructure in the Nigerian payments market.

“InterSwitch’s achievements have been considerable and the Techno-Interactive Conference, which focused on Chip & PIN and loyalty cards, is a further example of their constant drive for improvement and innovation,” he said.

Nigeria, he pointed out, is an example for other African countries to follow and Postilion is proud that its solutions have been widely adopted as the platform of choice for so many Nigerian banks,” he said.
