Leading Information Technology (IT) training centre, the New Horizons has opened a new outlet in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Managing Director, New Horizons Nigeria, Mr. Tim Akano, said that the outlet is located on the 1st Floor, Amma Plaza, Constitutional Avenue, Opposite National Hospital, Garki, Abuja.
He also said that the opening of the Abuja office was in line with the firm’s business plan to extend its world class services to every part of the country.
Akano noted that when New Horizons Systems Solutions Limited, otherwise known as New Horizons Computer Learning Centres commenced operation in the country about four years ago, the company had a very clear vision of revolutionizing Nigeria using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) skills and completely eradicating poverty and unemployment especially among the youths.
As said by him, the board of directors of the company share a common maxim that the road to success is not in being fraudulent and making money by all means and at all cost.
“
But by honest and committed hard-work, dedication and engagement of one’s thinking abilities to generate novel ideas that will be a blessing to all and then one will be successful and invariably Nigeria will be the Nation to reckon with,” he said.
Stressing that success is not about doing different things, rather “it’s about doing something differently and what New Horizons Computer Learning Centres is doing differently is that rather than giving knowledge on ICT training, its empowering people to believe in themselves, achieve more through determination, discipline and taking the right decisions first time and always and having the right skill sets with ICT, being in the front burners or the bedrock of whatever skills one may have acquired.”
This, he said, would bring about boundless opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship in the country.
Akano pointed out that his company has taken the Nigerian ICT market by storm coming up with unique initiatives that will bring about the much desired ‘ICT revolution.’
“... And liberate the nation from IT knowledge impoverishment and malignant socio economic indices,” he declared. Emphasizing that part of the new ideas embarked upon by his firm made the company the brand name among discerning IT students, education practitioners that needs the best IT education for their pupils and students and corporate individuals as well as firms that require cutting edge IT skills.
Some of the courses offered by the IT centre, he said, are combined for Nigerians to take advantage of Certified Ethical Hacking with Network 5, Oracle certified Professional combined with Project Management Fundamentals, Supply Chain Management with Project Management fundamentals to name a few.
Equally, Akano said, his firm conducts seminars and job fairs for corporate bodies and youths in general, citing the instance of five seminars that was organised in year 2008 on ICT, where the seminars attracted a crowd of over 120,000 participants in 10 locations across the country.
