Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 has been awarded the prestigious Choice of Channel 2008 Award in the Best New Product category for the Middle East and Africa, reports Charles Okoh.
The winners of the various Choice of Channel 2008 Awards were chosen by more than 1000 representatives from leading IT companies, major retail chains and computer stores based in the Middle East, of which the result saw Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 emerging the Best New Product category.
Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions affirmed this weekend in a press statement made available to ITRealms Online, quoted the Managing Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa of the firm, Garry Kondakov, as saying that they are delighted to receive such a top award and are grateful to its partners for their support.
“Throughout 2008, Kaspersky Lab placed a lot of emphasis on developing the company’s business in the Middle East and Africa, and achieved some remarkable results – our sales in the region grew 410 per cent compared to the previous year. The Choice of
Channel 2008 Award is a clear reflection of Kaspersky Lab’s leading position in the Middle East’s IT market,” he said.
Kaspersky Lab received a similar award from EMEA distributors in February 2009, when it was named software vendor of the year.
Kaspersky Internet Security and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 were launched on the Middle East market in August 2008.
