VEDA Technology Limited (VTL), a wholly Nigerian company, has launched its range of computer products into the ever-growing Nigerian computer market, reports CHARLES OKOH.
According to the Managing Director, VTL, Mr. Bode Pedro, the VEDA EXL, VEDA Touch, VEDA Fly and VEDA Pulse products all come with next generation wireless cards that allow easy internet connection and smooth data transfer as well as GUEST; a pre-loaded multimedia resource platform that provides users with access to business, information, communication and entertainment tools for increased productivity.
“It is the one stop hub for business, entertainment, information and communication. It aim at discouraging anti-social tendencies through internet abuse by offering cheap and affordable computer products with relevant information which will occupy the minds of our youths more than the destructive present fixation,” he said.
Mr. Pedro also said the VEDA Touch is all-in-one system with innovative touch screen system that instantly provides the work space with a visible cable and high performance Intel Montevina platform and a vast amount of storage space with the two premium SATA hard-drive bays.
VEDA EXL, he said, is designed to meet the needs of the business and working class group with Intel Montevina platform, Third Generation (3G) ready, Wireless LAN (local area network) 802.11b/g minicard, Bluetooth V2.1 and up to 4GB memory.
“VEDA is a product of two years of research and development to build the best technology platform in this region. We have laid a strong foundation by building our brand on a certain principle that guides us in ensuring the best products for consumers; innovation. We stand by this by following a policy of new ideas that provides solutions to challenges in our society,” he added.
Speaking at the products launch, the Director General, Federal Minister of Science and Technology, Oluwole Olatunji, expressed satisfaction at the efforts of the promoters, saying it has proved that the future of the nation is in the hands of the youths.
He also said the ministry was pleased with the development and enjoined the youths to channel their efforts into positive things that will raise the profile of the nation, adding that with this, the nation will be ready for the technological age.
