Information and Communications Technology (ICT) expert and Vice Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife, Prof. Michael Faborede, is to preside at the prize giving ceremony being organised by the Lagos Alumni Association in collaboration with eWorld, a publication of Ajomedia Limited.
ITRealms Online gathered that over 10 alumni of the university who have distinguished themselves in their chosen career would be honoured at the event for remarkable performances in ICT sector and contribution to national growth.
The award ceremony which comes up on August 26, this year, at Eko Hotels and Suites, would see some of the notables in the industry and alumni of the university to stand for honour.
ITRealms Online gathered that the event would be an assemblage of who’s who in the group as some top notchers in the industry have confirmed participation, including the chief executive of New Horizon, Mr. Tim Akano, Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Ernest Ndukwe.
Equally on the roll call for the event is the Director General, National Information Technology Agency (NITDA), Professor Cleopas Angaye, chief executive officer, Omatek Computers, Mrs Florence Seriki, her counterparts at MainOne Technologies, Bi- TraxAxxent, Ms Funke Opeke, Mrs. Bunmi Afolabi, respectively.
In addition the chief executive of Chams Plc, Mr. Demola Aladekomo, his colleagues in the Internet Service Provision (ISP) and chief executive of Linkserve Limited, Chief Chima Onyekwere, as well as the Chief Technical Officer (CTO), MTN Nigeria, Mr. Karl Toriola.
Also, there would be the Nigeria’s first ICT youth ambassador, Mr. Gbenga Sesan, and the Commandant of the Army Signal Corp, Major-General Umo, whose role in ECOMOG was exemplary, earning him a national award to mention a few, in attendance.
While the first DG of NITDA, late Professor Gabriel Ajayi and immediate past President of ATCON, late Alaba Charles Joseph are anticipated to be honoured at the occasion.
