The Executive Vice Chairman and chief executive officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, would next week Tuesday deliver the keynote address at this year’s Telecom Device Forum as industry support for the high profile event continues to grow.
Telecom Device Forum is a technology round-table designed for key actors in the telecommunications, banking, e-payment channel providers, device manufacturers, network operators, software vendors, distributors and retailers, as well as internet service providers is slated for September 22 at Golden Gate Restaurant in Lagos.
A press statement from the organizers made available to ITRealms Online, weekend, indicated that Ndukwe’s address would show how the sweeping revolution has continued to impact on all facets of the national economy and how all sectors rely on telecommunications one way or the other.
According to the organizers, the choice of Ndukwe is appropriate as he inspired the tremendous growth and transformation of the country’s telecommunications landscape earning the agency, a reputation as a transparent agency.
The press statement endorsed by Rueben Mouka, head, public affairs, NCC and Ken Nwogbo, editor, Nigeria Communications Week, organisers of the event said that the forum is designed to give both the layperson and the professional an update of emerging technologies, e-payment and handheld devices and related business trends and events.
The event which has as its theme, the “Telecom Industry Fuelling the Future of e-Payment System” is a high level forum where key actors in the industry meet, discuss, suggest and chart a roadmap for the future of communications industry in Nigeria.
The forum to be presided over by the chairman, Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (Alton), Mr. Gbenga Adebayo, would also have the regional director, D-Link West Africa, Dr. Chris Uwaje dwelling on a technical presentation on the security of the e-payment system.
Kyari Bukar, the managing director, Valucard Nigeria, providers of a high-quality, world-class, e-payment processing infrastructure and Ken Aigbinode, executive vice chairman, ZOOMmobile, pride of Nigeria telecommunications industry respectively will present the various angles of their sectors.
e-Transact, the first online real-time payment system that allows individuals and corporate account holders to pay for goods and services purchased from merchants without stress will also x-ray the working of the e-payment system.
