Nigeria’s leading telecommunications services provider MTN, has apologised for the difficulties being experienced by some of its subscribers while attempting to recharge their phones, since last Friday.
According to the Corporate Services Executive, MTN Nigeria, Mr Wale Goodluck, the situation followed a hardware failure in one of the recharging equipment on Friday morning.
A press statement from the operator endorsed by Mr. Goodluck said its “Engineers have since rectified the problem and the voucher server is now processing customers’ recharge requests.
However, due to the backlog of requests in the system, some customers might still experience difficulties loading their cards”.
Goodluck assured customers that the difficulty would ease in a few days.
He thanked MTN subscribers for their support, patience and understanding, whilst apologizing on behalf of MTN management for the disruption and inconvenience caused.
