Coollink partners Star Satcom on YahClick

DETERMINED to deliver affordable, world-class broadband internet connectivity to underserved users, Coollink, a subsidiary of AIM Group and Star Satellite Communications, a subsidiary of Yahsat, have signed a service partnership agreement to offer “YahClick”, a satellite broadband service in the country.

As part of the agreement, Steam Broadcasting and Communications will provide YahClick Internet connectivity and bring reliable broadband internet at affordable prices.

A press statement made available to ITRealms Online said “the service will address the broadband requirements of home users, institutions, non-governmental organizations and enterprises across industries such as oil and gas companies, financial institutions, construction, manufacturing and hospitality to name a few.”

The statement also indicated that with YahClick’s affordable, reliable and high-speed internet, schools and colleges can benefit from faster communications services and provide students with access to local, regional and global information as well as facilitate distance learning services offered by educational institutions.

It also said the service can aid hospitals’ and community clinics’ usage of telemedicine services, which means the transfer of medical information via telecommunication technologies for the purpose of remote consulting, medical procedures and examinations.

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Yahsat and GED of Mubadala, Jassem Al Zaabi; “The appointment of Steam Broadcasting as a partner in Nigeria is strategic due to their audience and market reach.”

He also said “through their ownership of local businesses and local media in particular, the radio stations COOL FM and WAZOBIA FM, the AIG Group has a strong history of communicating with the public.

“This will enable YahClick to make a powerful entry into the Nigerian market, particularly the consumer segment,” he said.

Also speaking, the CEO, AIM Group, Amin Moussali, said “the strategic partnership with Yahsat would enable his firm provide the Nigerian public with much needed, affordable internet services.

“We have a strong presence in all the major cities of Nigeria and we will with YahClick make satellite internet accessible to a wide segment of the Nigerian population for whom satellite internet was previously a dream,” he said.
