ALTON endorses Broadband forum

The eWorld Broadband Forum slated to hold between March 3 and 4, 2010, witnessed a swelled endorsement with the latest coming from the Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON).

ALTON is the umbrella body of both Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and Global System for Mobile (GSM) communications network operators in the country.

In a letter to eWorld at the weekend dated January 28, 2010, ALTON indicated its willingness to participate in the event, according to Administrative Secretary Mr. Gbolahan Awonuga, who signed the letter behalf of ALTON chairman, Mr. Gbenga Adebayo, while confirming that its chairman would speak at the forum.

The organizers of the forum noted that it’s now turning to be a must attend event because of the importance of the subject matter and benefits thereof.

Industry players are particularly excited by its timelines, the array of precise topics lined up for discussion and the speakers that are continuously signifying their readiness to participate.

It is their view that the March date for the event would afford time for adequate planning and involvement of all.

ITRealms Online recalled that ATCON President Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem has been confirmed to speak on ‘Broadband: Ways To the 2015 Digital Harvest for the 2020 Digital Banquet,’ while Mr. Lanre Ajayi of the Nigeria Internet Group (NIG) would dwell on ‘Bridging the Digital Divide through Broadband.’

Additionally, industry analyst cum management consultant and founding chief executive officer of eShekels, Mr. Fola Odufuwa, while confirming participation said he would be momentarily coming out of his sabbatical to speak at the eWorld forum and would speak on ‘Keying Nigeria into Global Broadband Trends.’
