CBC names Alabi EVC, plans expansion

The board of Information Technology solution provider, CBC Group for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) has named Mr. Gbade Alabi as the firm’s Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) for the region.

Mr. Alabi’s appointment came as unanimous resolution of the board, which was adopted at a recent meeting in Lagos.ITRealms Online gathered that the decision was consequent upon his several years of consistent dedication to the growth of the company, which was established over 30 years ago. An alumnus of Harvard Business School, Alabi’s contribution to the development of IT industry in Nigeria has been seen by colleagues and other stakeholders as exciting.

Reacting to his latest appointment, Alabi disclosed his plans to take CBC to the next level of development and growth by ensuring that the company’s presence is felt not only in all the sectors of Nigerian economy, but also across the sub-Saharan Africa and Europe.

“CBC is now spreading across West Africa and the essence is to grow to other parts of Africa and extend to Europe in the nearest future,” he said, stressing that the firm is working round the clock to assist the Nigerian banking industry get out of the current situation via bringing the best of solutions that help institutions in other parts of the world to the Nigerian financial services industry.

Alabi also said that in order to assist other sectors of the economy, CBC EMEA has established other subsidiaries that would cater for the needs of the key sectors of Nigerian economy.

“Each of these subsidiaries is manned by competent and tested hands in the industry,” he said. One of such subsidiaries is the CBC Infrastructure, he said, provides IT hardware services and solutions to customers.

“Some of the solutions on offer at CBC Infrastructure include enterprise systems and server solution, data storage solution among others,” he said.

The subsidiary’s server, he said, delivers outstanding performance, mainframe-inspired reliability, modular non-disruptive growth and innovative virtualization technologies.

“These features are integrated to enable the simplified management of growth, complexity and risk,” he said.

Mr. Alabi pointed out that when an organization wants to spend less time managing its application data, mailboxes, and files while dramatically reducing costs, the data storage solution could help consolidate all Windows storage, simplify administration and improve protection and availability of vital business data with the unified storage architecture.

“The aim is to reduce costs through higher storage utilization and lower administrative overhead; enhance manageability with easy yet powerful solutions for management, backup and recovery, data protection and improve productivity with better performance, scalability, and availability.

On CBC Surveillance, Mr. Alabi said it’s another subsidiary that offers surveillance and security solutions to address challenges in the public and private sectors.

“Its business focus includes environmental monitoring solutions which monitor critical environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, sound level, motion, water, intrusion, diesel level to name a few,” he asserted.

Whereas, CBC NetComms, he said, is the networks integrator and communications solution provider of the group and offers services in the areas of Radio Area Network (RAN), Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) as well as Internet service and Virtual Private Network(VPN) Connectivity and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS).

“With CBC NetComms, organizations can quickly and easily buy and deploy additional capacity for their data centre as they need it,” he said, noting that the firm collaborates with customers to pre-scope all work so as to ensure delivery of on-time and on-budget based on speed and agility among others.
