The organizers of the conference on Multiple Taxation at the Conference on ICT and the Nigerian environment, have announced the creation of a website, www.ictenvironmentconference.com for the purpose of enhancing the benefits of the talkshop.
A press statement signed by Aaron Ukodie, chief executive officer, eWorld Magazine, showed that the website would provide information and aid interaction as well as discussions on the issues slated for discussion during and after the conference.
Also, he said that some of the speakers for the event with the theme: ICT and the Nigerian Environment 2010: Appropriate Taxation and Promotion of Healthy Environmentally Friendly Technologies, have confirmed their readiness for.
He further said that the one-day event scheduled for July 30 at Sheraton Hotels, Lagos, would play host to the Lagos state Commissioner of Science and Technology, Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, MTN Corporate Services Executive, Wale Goodluck, President of Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) Mr. Titi Omo-Ettu and Chairman of the Association of Licensed Telecoms Companies of Nigeria (ALTON), Mr. Gbenga Adebayo.
Others listed as speakers include Prof. Cleopas Angaye of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and Chairperson of the Joint Tax Board, Mrs. Ifueko Omoigui Okauru.
The event is being jointly organized by the African Independent Television (AIT), eWorld Magazine, Tribe Media and IT Edgenews.com are collaborating to host the first all-encompassing conference on ICT and the Nigerian environment.
Ukodie explained that the conference is designed to bring stakeholders together from the public and private sector to address the common challenges of safety and profit-taxing that has been areas of conflict between government authorities and service providers.
