All is now set for the one-day summit on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), multiple taxation, regulation and clean environment, scheduled to hold on Friday, July 30, 2010 in Lagos.
Organisers of the event, disclosed that various stakeholders have confirmed their readiness to attend the forum.
According to Aaron Ukodie, some of those who have endorsed the conference include MTN, Globacom, Omatek, NITDA, Alteq and Veda Technologies among others.
Also, he said, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) and the Association of Licensed Telephone Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) have confirmed attendance to the event and their Chief Executive Officers are presenting position papers.
In addition, officials of National Office of Technology Adaptation (NOTAP) and the Lagos State government, telecom operators and among others, who are having unresolved issues have agreed to attend the event.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Science and Technology, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat would also be in attendance.
“Multiple taxation and regulation are a sore in the seamless deployment of telecommunications networks and infrastructure and operators have continually claimed that the situation snails operation,” he said.
