Etisalat Nigeria has unveiled easylife as part of its package for the commemoration of Nigeria’s 50-year independence anniversary.
Chief Executive Officer, Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Steven Evans, disclosed this at the launch of the product in Lagos, last weekend, even as the network has achieved 5 million mark subscribers.
“As we approach the 50th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence, we at Etisalat are also celebrating a few milestones. We are of course a mere baby in comparison with Nigeria, but it is interesting to note that it is two years since we launched our 0809uchoose campaign, and 22 months since we launched our service,” he said.
He noted that Etisalat actually launched 0809uchoose in September 2008 and went commercial on October 23, of the same year.
“We have constantly sought to lead the market in innovation. Our track record speaks for us: 0809uchoose, homezone, missed calls notification, receiver pays, recharge others, free midnight calls, sms and mms to facebook updates, free data, bundles with Easy Cliq and recently an enhanced bonus on incoming calls and an entirely new feature we called You & Me,” he said.
He reiterated that Etisalat is not only an innovative network, but also a network that cares for its subscribers, stressing that recently independently conducted researches confirmed Etisalat’s growing pedigree as the best provider of customer care in Nigeria’s telecommunications industry.
“We’re proud of accomplishments such as these and are keen to retain our customers’ trust in us by continually exceeding their expectations. We are proud to employ bright and motivated young people in our call centres in Kano and Lagos,” he said.
As Nigeria approaches her 50th anniversary, he said, Etisalat is proud to announce that the attainment of 5 million active customers on the network.
“This is an important milestone and if one casts one’s mind back to the end of 2009 when we registered 2.7 million customers, you can see that our growth is accelerating. We are not by any means resting on our laurels as we are committed to continually growing our customer base and look forward to announcing our 50 millionth subscribers in the shortest possible time,” Mr. Evans said.
Easylife, he said, is a proposition that breaks new ground and gives all customers the chance to talk and talk giving them access to 25 kobo per second calls to all networks at anytime of the day.
“Easylife is a big thank you to all of our subscribers for their loyalty to the brand. We say a big thank you to every one of our five million subscribers for their patronage and endorsement of the brand,” he said.
Giving more insight into the new offering, Chief Commercial Officer Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Wael Ammar, said that they believe strongly in rewarding customers for their loyalty to the brand, particularly at an auspicious time like this when the company and Nigeria have cause to celebrate.
“While Nigeria celebrates her Golden Jubilee, as a company we are celebrating our second year of operations with an impressive 5 million customers on our network and every single one of our pan-Nigeria cell sites data-enabled,” he said.
Ammar pointed out that it is for reasons of this double celebration that Etisalat is offering subscribers on the network a chance to enjoy the easylife.
“Our new proposition, Etisalat easylife, is designed to make life easy for all our subscribers on both the easy starter and easy cliq packages. They can now make calls to any network, anytime and anywhere in the country for just 25kobo per second,” he said.
Easylife, the CCO said, allows existing and new subscribers on the Etisalat network to stay connected to their loved ones, family and business associates at the most minimal costs in Nigeria during this golden jubilee year and beyond.
Thus, he said, delighted to introduce this cost-cutting intervention to the market as continuous demonstration of the high premium Etisalat places on customers as the center of its business.
To enjoy this innovative tariff proposition, according to him entails that a subscriber dials *220*1# and they would be immediately connected to the easylife from Etisalat.
He further said that there is a token charge of N20 daily access charge which is automatically renewed at midnight everyday.
“Subscribers will receive a confirmatory message conveying the success of their subscription. To confirm whether they are on the plan or not, a subscriber simply needs to dial *220#. To deactivate subscription to the offer, subscribers can dial *220*2#,” he elucidated.
