THE Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON) has inaugurated three standing committees to strengthen its internal structure and reposition for national and international competitiveness.
The committees are Education, Policy and Strategies as well as Legal and Regulatory respectively.
Inaugurating the three committees in Lagos, last week, ISPON president, Mr. Chris Uwaje said that they would undertake the assignment of critical issues bothering on ISPON’s operations, national responsibility and enhanced benefit to the government, public and its members.
According to him, the committee on Education would oversee the issues of capacity building, while the committee on Policy would take on software policy and related matters, just as that on Legal and Regulatory would handle ISPON relationship with the government and regulatory agencies.
He also said that the committees would be headed by seasoned members of ISPON namely Chief Anthony Ayodele of Labyet Polaris for Education, Mr. Yele Okeremi of Precise Financials Systems to take charge of the Legal and Regulatory matters, whereas Mr. James Emadonye of BSSL would head the Committee on Policy and Strategies.
Responding after the appointment, Mr. Okeremi appreciated the National Executive Council (NEC) of ISPON for such honour and call to national service, promising that the committees would live up to expectation in ensuring that their duties are carried out to the best of their ability.
