With 25 days to the commemoration of Nigeria independence, world’s leading manufacturer in mobile devices, Nokia, is partnering with Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) operator, Zain to reward their customers with the launch of a Cash Splash Independence promo.

winning N1 million Naira each at the grand draw.

He also said that weekly draws would be held across major cities across the country, namely Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano and Lagos, which will also host the grand draw.
Mr. de-La-Vega said that this campaign is in line with Nokia’s plan to connect with its customers especially during this national milestone.

“This campaign is one way of sharing in this once in a lifetime moment with Nigerians,” he asserted, stressing that the promotion resonates with the brand personae of Nokia and Zain.

According to him, there is no better time to connect Nigerians into a wonderful world than the golden anniversary of Nigeria’s independence.

To enter for the promo, customers need to simply buy a Nokia device from any accredited Nokia dealer, activate their Zain SIM cards and they would be automatically entered into the weekly draws and the grand draw which will give five people a chance to win the grand prize of N1,000,000 each.

Commenting, the Chief Executive Officer, Zain Nigeria, Mr. Rajan Swaroop said the promo was in appreciation of the support and patronage of Nigerians.

Zain, he said, is committed to surpassing the expectations of its teeming customers by delivering “a wonderful world” through unmatched customer experience.

Zain made history on August 5, 2001 when then trading as Econet Wireless became the first telecoms operator to launch commercial GSM services in the country.

In 2006, following Celtel International’s acquisition of majority stake in the company, it was re-branded Celtel and became an important part of Celtel’s pan-African operations spanning 14 countries.

Additionally, on August 1, 2008 Celtel Nigeria was rebranded Zain Nigeria following the global acquisition of Celtel International by Zain Group.

On the other hand, Nokia is a global leader in the mobile phone market and in Nigeria. In Nigeria alone, Nokia has sold over one billion units of mobile phones since inception and in spite of the influx of new brands of mobile phones and increased competition Nokia remains a market leader in mobile devices.
