Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-driven surveillance firm, the Bikal Network Limited has commenced operations in Nigeria with the unveiling of its Internet Protocol-based Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) solutions into the market.
The Managing Director, Bikal Networks Nigeria, Mr. Lawrence Umoren, said that the firm is a digital surveillance provider that specialises in the provision of state of the art technologies for covering of security needs by organisations in both public and private sectors.
Bikal Nigeria, he said, is an affiliate of Bikal London, which has branches across the world with over a decade role in its line of business.
He noted that Bikal Nigeria would be committed in delivering the best security surveillance systems, which could be customized to meet the needs of customers.
According to him, Bikal owns the core technology for digital surveillance which includes the designing of products that are intelligence driven and more importantly has globally proved itself in the field.

Therefore, Umoren said, “we’re pleased to introduce our range of IP surveillance products from cameras of any type and shape, through Network Video Recording (NVR) systems.”
He explained that NVR, for instance, covers a maximum number of cameras for training, maintenance and software solution, noting that Bikal’s IP camera software known as ‘EyeSoft’ is reputed as a solution featuring an open source structure with hybrid support for multi-vendor IP CCTV cameras from Axis, Arecont, Acti, BiKal, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, Pelco Toshiba and more to Universal Serial Bus (USB)-based webcams, analog capture cards and IPTV streams.
He also said that EyeSoft is simple to use and has an easy to manage software interface which is suitable for the home, power and enterprise user in addition to in built video analytics.
He described EyeSoft as a data management programme that enables command to the cameras to act intelligently.
“With this, the cameras are therefore able for instance, to detect abnormal behaviour, smoke and fire, unattended baggage, till transactions, illegal parking, congregating crowd, identify vehicle plate number, track objects and human among others,” he said.
Bikal solution, he said, could be applied wherever there is a security need, noting that Bikal traffic management solution, for instance, has been used to solve the problem of traffic congestion, identify accident black-spots, recognize number plates of traffic offenders, monitoring traffic pattern, criminal activity in public transport and driver’s efficiency to name a few.
As for Bikal wireless internet offers, he said, this enables cameras at homes, offices, shops, garages to be monitored from anywhere in the world, through Personal Computer (PC) or Third Generation (3G) mobile phones.
“Location, size, old or new technologies are no boundaries to any customer wanting to improve security of lives, protection of families, business among others,” he said.
