New Horizons concludes job fair-10

The New Horizons Nigeria, has concludes 3rd Job Fair at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

Confirming this, Managing Director, New Horizons, Mr. Tim Akano, said that the yearly programme was specifically designed for all the retail and corporate clients with the aim of alleviating the deplorable state of unemployment in the country through the provision of a common platform for recruitment agencies and job seekers.

In addition, participants were to learn basic principles of entrepreneurship and latest information on cutting edge Information Technology (IT) skills and certifications as an added value in other to enable the participants secure or create the job of their dream.

He noted that the company strongly believes that the only way Nigerians could command global recognition, is by adding values and competing with their counterparts in all nations of the world.

This, he added would supplement the certificate obtained from academic institutions with latest technical skills available in the world of IT.

Akano further said, the vision has been to transform Nigeria into a knowledge based economy of IT professionals, where an individual is a technology specialist in various IT fields such as Oracle Database Management, Cicso technologies, Software Developers, Microsoft System Administrators Business professionals (Customer Relationship Management, Knowledge Management, Enterprise Resource Planning and Supply Chain Management) who could compete with their counterparts in every nation of the world.

He stressed the need for a basic approach in searching, preparing and qualifying for job placement in line with standard techniques and expectations of employers.

Akano pointed out that showing the attendees available top IT skills which could enhance their qualification for the job of their dream.

This year’s event, he said, experienced a huge attendance of job seekers who came with high expectations.

“Global recruiters like workforce management taught the participants the ethics for a successful job search which includes personal discovery, CV preparation/packaging, rules of interview, and job search techniques,” he said.
