Group Managing Director of the Computer Warehouse Group (CWG), Mr. Austin Kwesi Okere, has bagged award as the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) man of the decade.
The award was announced at the recently concluded West African Awards organized by ICT Watch to mark its 10 years anniversary in Lagos.
The organizers led by Mr. Tayo Adewusi said that Mr. Okere was picked as the ‘Most Outstanding ICT Man of the Decade’ amidst close contenders.
“Okere was given this award in recognition of his immense contribution to the development and growth of Information technology within the region” he said.
Also, he said, Okere has demonstrated his conviction in the reality that Information Technology could be used effectively as a tool to drive efficiency and better productivity in business.
“Through his Information and communications technology conglomerate, Computer Warehouse Group, more businesses in Nigeria and across the West African region, are being enabled with world class technologies,” he said.
Leveraging effective partnerships and exceptional innovation, the organizers said that Okere’s team of exceptional professionals and passion drive CWG to succeed against all odds.
“CWG has excelled in providing customer driven solutions to organisations,” Adewusi noted.
ITRealms Online recalls that hitherto, Okere has won numerous other awards including IT Personality of the Year, Africa Corporate Gold award, ECOWAS International Gold award amongst many others. He is a fellow of the Institute Of Directors and member of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG).
