SkyVision unveils corporate services

Internet Protocol (IP) company, SkyVision Global Networks Ltd, has unveiled corporate and enterprise market products in Lagos.

Speaking at the event, SkyVision chief executive officer, Mr. Doron Ben Sira, said that Nigeria is a market his firm value so much, hence the launch for the corporate Nigeria.

He noted that with the huge expansion of both national and international corporate activity in the country, it is no longer in doubt that Nigeria has since assumed a strategic market for SkyVision.

He disclosed that in less than three years, SkyVision has invested about N2 billion in Nigeria and is keen in making more investment, although he could not put a figure to the coming investment for 2011.

“We’re continuing to invest considerable resources in developing our corporate network connectivity solutions for this segment, which is showing steady growth,” he said.

Ben Sira pointed out that in order to meet the ever increasing demand by corporate and enterprise customers in Nigeria, SkyVision established a Point of Presence (POP) and Teleport in Lagos via submarine cables and powerful satellites to improve their connectivity, globally, regionally and domestically.

He explained that SkyVision’s POP is connected to its Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) backbone network that spans 3 continents and enables connectivity from anywhere in the world to Nigeria using multiple STM-1 cables.

The company’s comprehensive suite of fiber-based services, he said comprises of SkyVision Internet Transit, SkyVision IP-VPN and SkyVision EVPL.

SkyVision, according to him, has installed a local hub at its POP to serve enterprise and corporate customers with single hop Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) Virtual Private Network (VPN) connectivity based on SkyVision’s VPN service.

Ben-Sikra said that SkyVision VPN is a satellite-based virtual private network service that allows organizations to connect their Wide Area Network (WAN) sites, making it possible to share information and collaborate via voice and data applications.

“The new local hub in Lagos enables SkyVision to provide low-latency solutions, to connect corporate headquarters to the hub by terrestrial link and thus ensure optimal functionality of
enterprise applications,” he said.

Ben-Sira joined at the press meeting by the local representative for SkyVision in Nigeria, Mr. Shittu Ayodeji Adeyi, and Regional Director SkyVision, Mr. Etan Messika, hinted that SkyVision’s new connectivity solutions enable both global and local corporate entities to achieve their business goals by improving interaction with their remote locations, thereby raising productivity levels and reducing operational costs.
