Emitac mobile hosts partners

Strategic channel partner of Research In Motion (RIM), Emitac Mobile Solutions (EMS), has hosted is partners in the country to a summit in Lagos.

EMS delivers, implement and support BlackBerry solutions operating in the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, Eastern Europe and South East Asia.

Currently, EMS first launched BlackBerry service in Nigeria in 2007 with Airtel, and today EMS works with three of the region’s largest operators; Globacom, Airtel and Etisalat.

EMS also has strong partnership with Slot and Telec which ensures distribution of BlackBerry Smartphones to consumers in Nigeria.

Speaking at the summit, the chief executive officer, EMS, Mr. Babar Khan said his firm is committed to add value to mobile phone operators via services and solutions to help drive data revenue and retain customers, making them more competitive and profitable.

“In 2010 the worldwide mobile phone market grew by 15.5 percent, a new high driven by demand for smartphones. Middle East and North Africa grew by 17.08 percent, highlighting the major opportunities that exist,“ he said.

EMS is currently present in more than 25 markets in Africa and this number is rapidly rising, as such we are taking exciting steps towards further expansion and moving into more key African markets,” he said.

He noted as one of the most important markets for EMS, and being a highly populated country, Nigeria has tremendous smartphone mobile usage growth which is forecasted to reach to 5 million in the next 3 years in Nigeria. “Mobile phone users are eager to upgrade to smartphone devices that handle data as well as voice, which is driving this growth,” Khan said, pointing out that at EMS they value all prestigious partners and firmly believe that they could help them achieve phenomenal success.

EMS is the largest distributor of BlackBerry smartphones in Africa. It is also the region’s first Mobility Solutions Provider whose services are delivered through partnerships with over 71 operators and over 65 retailers in more than 47 countries in Middle East, Africa, CIS Eastern Europe and South East Asia.
