The Managing Director, Zinox Computers, Mr. Emomine Mukoro, has said that the firm’s recently multiple awards have justified its vision of emancipating Africans through Digital Knowledge Democracy (DKD).
Speaking at a brief ceremony held at the Zinox headquarters to celebrate some of the recent awards, Mukoro said top of the awards was the Best Computer Manufacturer of the Year from the National Information Technology Merit Awards (NITMA), a body set up by the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS) and the Most Valuable Computer Manufacturer of the Year from the Titans of Technology.
He said that these industry recognitions and awards justified Zinox’s vision for Digital Knowledge Democracy, the operational platform conceptualized to alter positively the destiny of many Africans.
“The multiple awards that we have received, especially in the aftermath of the successful supply of 80,000 Direct Data Capturing (DDC) machines to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), justify our corporate resolve to provide knowledge tools and skills that are tailored to the emancipation of the African,” he said.
Zinox, he said, believes that Information Technology (IT) has the capacity to turn around the under developed circumstances of the Africans and unleash potentials for greatness.
Mukoro also said that these awards would encourage Zinox to greater quest for excellence, underscoring the fact that the recent supply of DDC machines was quite an accomplishment, especially looking back at the elections that were postponed for inability to supply ballot papers.
Zinox, Mukoro said, is ready to exceed the growing expectations from Nigerians in particular and Africans in general.
He used the opportunity to congratulate the chairman of Zinox, Dr. Leo-Stan Ekeh, who was a few days ago named the ICT Personality of the Year for his unrelenting commitment to the transfer of technology by catalyzing access to ICT equipment and capacities.
Further, he said that the award was well deserved given the credibility that the Zinox chairman brought to the entire Nigerian IT sector through his leadership in the DDC machines feat.
“There would have been no voters’ registration in January 2011 without the character of Leo Stan Ekeh driving Zinox,” he declared.
Mukoro recalled the last quarter report of IDC in 2010 which confirmed Zinox as the Number 1 PC brand in the country, elucidating that the challenges ahead were enormous since it is more difficult to remain at the top.
Management, he said, has put everything in place to ensure that employees perform optimally while new quality personnel are being hired both locally and internationally, production processes are safer and digitalized, and the working environment is primed to achieve stated objectives.
“We have done it in Nigeria and we can do it in every other country in Africa,” Mukoro asserted.
Zinox Computers pioneered the local manufacture of computers in Nigeria barely ten years ago as the country’s First Internationally Certified Branded Computers. Armed on its debut with Microsoft’s WHQL certification and consequently with the NIS ISO 9001 – 2000 Quality Management Systems certification, the brand effectively established itself as the number one Nigerian computer brand with a vision to be Africa’s best.
