TD empowers resellers, marks financial year

The Technology Distributions (TD) Limited, is empowering its resellers with training and freebies, just as it marked its financial year.

The Executive Director Marketing at TD, Mrs. Chioma Chimere, said that in anticipation of the New Financial Year, the firm has, over the past eight weeks organized a series of capacity building courses designed to bring the resellers’ teams abreast with trends in the market and changing product portfolios.

She said that the new financial year for the company which began April 1, 2011 offers resellers hope to smile to the banks with free training on marketing, increased margins, office support equipment and freebies for their customers.

She noted that by honing its operatives and resellers to take advantage of the impending economic boom resulting from the deepening democratic experience.

Mrs. Chimere, further said, one of the training sessions was a two-day event by TD and HP in which the ISS and IPG markets were thoroughly reviewed.

She quoted the TD/HP ISS product manager, Mr. Bob Nzelu, as leading the first day of training with a presentation on ISS product knowledge, stating the differences between the available ranges of servers in the market.

While Mr. Bayo Oginni, Channel Sales Specialist – West Africa, HP gave a talk on HP Care Pack. Mr. Louis of TDplus talked on the world class support made by TDplus in the areas of pre-sales, on sale and after sales support.

Equally, she said that Mrs. Rita Amuchienwa, Channel Development Manager, HP, led the second day of training with a talk on The Rewards of Partners in which she discouraged partners from dealing with gray products. She stressed that loyalty to the channel must be adhered to by all practitioners as a means of maintaining product quality, competitive margins and credible support.

In addition, Mrs. Modupe Adesuyin, made a presentation on the replacement of old model printers with new ones emphasizing the introduction of the newest innovation by HP in the IPG business – the introduction of e-printing. That is new form of printer that prints from smart phones vie internet and blue tooth technology. Similar training sessions were held with other Original Equipment Manufacturers like Microsoft, Dell, APC by Schneider, ACER, and Toshiba.

Chimere explained that the new financial year gestures were part of the TD culture of continually empowering resellers.

She informed that within the year just ended TD has given out to resellers – one Toyota Hilux pickup van won by Tobest Computers at an end of year promo and a Hyundai 210 car won by Ideas Komputers at the HP/Windows 10 promo.

She said that in a bid to launch resellers into the financial year with a competitive edge, TD has slashed the prices of many products – laptops, desktops, servers, printers and toners and cartridges. For meeting very low targets resellers are given printers, back packs, head gears and other freebies.

“ The TD Executive Director urged resellers to take advantage of the immense support form TD and get into the new year with confidence and professionally. In her words “this sector cannot afford to be complacent because we must lead the charge at nation building” she said.
