The Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO), Globacom Limited, Mr. Muhammed Jameel has said that the essence of launching the latest offering from the operator’s table, GloZone is to bring its services nearer to the customers.
Speaking at the launch in Lagos, Jameel said Glo Zone is a unique customer-connect centre targeted at its subscribers across the country.
According to him, before now, walk-in customer service experience was only available in Gloworld, Globacom-owned and operated retail outlets, but with this GloZone, it has been extended.
Glo Zone, to be managed as a franchise, he said has potentials to offer unique customer interfacing project, hundreds of which would be located in neighborhoods nationwide.
He said that these new shops would be run by private and budding entrepreneurs, who are set up to provide all the conveniences similar to Gloworld nationwide.
“Customers can get a whole range of customer care and sales services obtainable in any Gloworld shop nationwide, including information on Glo products and services,” he said.
Jameel added that at these Glo Zones, customers could purchase products including SIMs and recharge cards, activate Value Added Services and enjoy world class customer care support as well as register their SIMs.
As said by him, this week, six of these Glo Zones would be commissioned in the first pilot phase in the South West zone of the country.
“24 others will be opened over the next two months in several parts of the country. Over the next two years, 300 of such Glo Zones would have been commissioned in a step the company described as geared towards bringing Globacom products and services closer to where the people live,” he revealed.
He pointed out that the subscriber base of Globacom has grown rapidly over the last few years which motivated the company to look at other ways to solve the challenges of its customers.
Jameel emphasised that by locating Glo Zones in neighbourhoods, Globacom is determined to bring its products and services closer to the people and eliminating the challenges of having to move long distances to purchase Globacom products and enjoy its services.
“This also helps to ensure that subscribers do not have to waste precious time travelling long distances to experience Globacom products and services,” he said, stressing that for the budding operator of the individual Glo Zone, it is an avenue to make an impact in their communities and grow profitable businesses in partnership with a proudly Nigerian brand.
For Globacom, the Glo Zone concept presents a quicker opportunity for delivering Glo products and services in a less capital intensive manner.
Jameel asserted that it is an opportunity to bond with the subscribers, noting that “a good opportunity to prop up budding entrepreneurs and assist them rule their world thereby contributing in practical terms to solving unemployment problems in the country.”
