Nokia unveils Six care centres, mobile centre @ Computer Village

Nokia has unveiled six new care centres across the country, according to the Head of Nokia Care for West Africa, Mr. Silvin Sinan.

Speaking at the Computer Village, Ikeja-Lagos, during the launch of a mobile centre on Tuesday, Mr. Sinan said that Nokia now has six new care centres located in Ibadan, Ilorin, and Port Harcourt with Lagos having three located at Victoria Island, Trade fair complex and the Computer Village Ikeja.

He said the move was aimed at bringing after-sales service closer to the people through walk-in experience, thus, determined to provide first class repair services using genuine Nokia parts, technology and tools to fix genuine Nokia devices.

Also, he said, Nokia has a strategy of recruitment, training and equipping of Nigerians to offer the world class Nokia Care Services in all its care centres.

Presently, he pointed out that over 97 per cent of the Nokia Care Center staff in Nigeria has been gainfully employed.

He noted that Mobile Care centre otherwise known as the Care on Wheel (COW), which is care a van well equipped with state of the art equipment and built with first class cutting edge technology.

“It is the first of its kind in sub Saharan Africa,” he declared.

Additionally, he said that sms-warranty scheme of the company, was initiated by Nokia to determine if a device being bought is genuine or not, stressing that all the buyer needs to do is send an sms of the IMEI number to 32053.

“The buyer will then receive an sms that the phone has a 12-month Nigeria-warranty,” he said.

Explaining that non-receipt of this sms is evidence that the phone being purchased is probably a counterfeit device.

In his address, the Chairman of the Computer Village Association Mr. John Ogboru said he was delighted at Nokia’s track record in rendering after sales-service to its teeming customers.

Ogboru called on Nokia to continue in its leadership role in the mobile industry especially in the meticulous implementation of its warranty programme.
