Valetine fever catches Starcomms data customers

Leading Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) operator in the nation’s telecommunications industry, Starcomms plc, is giving customers a ‘buy-one-get-one-free’ data modem as well as 50 per cent discount on local calls for those on voice plan.

Disclosing this, the chief executive officer, Starcomms, Mr. Logan Pather, said that this was part of the company’s effort to enhance the Valentine’s Day celebration for its customers.

He elucidated that the rationale for the offer, was because a customer could buy one IZAP data modem with 2GB and get one free or one 1x data modem with 50 hours and get one free.

The offer, he said, is applicable to both iZAP and 1x modem for as low as N4, 999 while the voice plan offer allows customers to make on-net calls with 50 per cent discount only on Valentine’s Day, and this is applicable only to local calls.

He said the offers would be valid on February 14, 2012 only and data customers’ numbers must have been activated on December 14, 2011 by 11:59pm, adding that data renewal offer will be based on any existing renewal offer and for voice plan subscribers, offer is for local calls only.

Speaking further, on the Valentine’s Day celebration, Pather said this celebration is a special day designated to share love with special emphasis on couples and that the company has planned a one-day Valentine’s Day promotion for both voice and data customers.

Starcomms, he said, has been at the forefront of bringing innovative services to its customers, adding that the company was adjudged since 2007 as the CDMA network of the year by top telecommunication industry watchers.
