Speaking at a press
conference the global head, mobile at MasterCard, Mung Ki Woo, noted that the
firm and leading mobile partners Comviva, Intel, iZettle, Santander and
Turkcell have struck a deal for the future of mobile payments.
Global mobile payment solution provider, MasterCard has disclosed its eyes are now on the next billion consumers, even as it unleashes mobile payments at the just concluded Mobile World Congress in Spain.
MasterCard, Mung Ki said, has continued its mobile payment leadership,
thus outlining its vision on how to reach the next billion consumers through
mobile innovation and partnerships.
Together, Ki noted, they outlined their shared vision that the future of
reaching the next billion consumers through the mobile channel is fuelled by
collaboration and innovation in a collective effort by all the players in the
ecosystem including technology providers, mobile network operators and
financial institutions.
It was further disclosed that MasterCard also used the world’s largest
mobile event to celebrate a number of new mobile partnerships and initiatives
from around the globe, including the unveiling
of Wanda, a joint venture between Telefónica and
MasterCard – a new corporate and consumer brand designed to provide
mobile payment solutions to over 87 million Movistar customers in its Latin
American markets.

Another 1 billion customers sounds like a pretty tall order. They better hire a good australian seo company and put together one amazing marketing strategy if they want to pull that off.
