WatchGuard Technologies has announced its new policy map
which x-rays into firewall configurations and network traffic at the GITEX
2014, ITRealms authoritatively
reports.
Vice president, corporate and product strategy at WatchGuard
Technologies, Dave Taylor said they are showcasing the first industry-based
interactive, integrated policy mapping capability for Unified Threat Management
(UTM) and Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) appliances.
The real-time network security visibility solution, Taylor
stated in a press statement made available to ITRealms provides a comprehensive
view of traffic flow and policy impact across the entire nework, with the
ability to quickly filter or drill down for additional detail and analysis.
According to him, security policies are central to firewall
operation, stressing that in the 2014 Verizon Report, there is a strong
correlation between a badly configured firewall and the likelihood of a security
breach.
“Security policies are the brains of a firewall and dictate
the effectiveness of any firewall configuration and directly impact our
customers’ network protection,” Taylor said.
Pointing out that given the tremendous customer update for
dimension on a global basis, we recognized an opportunity to improve their
security management and eliminate errors, it’s important to give network
administrators a powerful tool for visualizing policy analysis.
“They can now see policies like never before and instantly
evaluate the impact on the network or user,” he said.
The newest update, ITRealms
gathered include information on zero-day malware, details about website visits
and traffic disposition, enhanced navigation, and consolidated certificate
management.
