BREAKING NEWS: 2015 Presidential Election: President Goodluck in early lead


Result of the 2015 Presidential Election began to trickle in Monday afternoon with the incumbent having a slight lead in the election result so far released as announced in Abuja by the Independent National Electoral Commission led by INEC Chairman,  Prof. Attahiru Jega, ITRealms can report authoritatively. 

He stated that 14 political parties went into the contest and the results were made known to anxious political agents and media people, but the two top political parties that stood out during the announcement were clearly the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The result indicated that APC swept the votes in Ogun, Osun, Ondo and Oyo States, while PDP was in control of Ekiti, Enugu, FCT, and Nasarawa States.

A breakdown of the result by ITRealms showed that APC scored 120,331 votes in Ekiti, while PDP scored 176,466 votes. In Ogun State, APC scored 308,290 while PDP scored 207, 950. Also, APC scored 14,157 in Enugu while PDP scored 553,003. Just as in Osun State, APC garnered 3883,603 votes, while PDP scored 249,929. Ondo State, it was a fight between two elephants as APC scored 299,889, while PDP scored 251,368 and in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), APC scored 146,339 and PDP, 157,195.

Other results are those of Oyo where APC scored 528,620 votes and PDP303,376. In Nasarawa it was PDP leading with 247,460 while APC garnered 236,282.

In all the total votes scored by the two political parties showed that APC have garnered 2,037,571, while PDP have scored 2,146,747 indicating a slide lead by the incumbent, President Goodluck Jonathan

At the time of filing this report results from many states are still being awaited, but INEC chairman has adjourned announcement till 8pm today, Nigeria time.
