Enugu Bomb explosion: Normalcy returns to WTC Primary School, accreditation commences - Police

The Nigeria Police Force in Enugu, capital of Enugu State, this morning reported that a bomb exploded in the coal city near a polling station, but normalcy has since returned to the centre and accreditation commenced, reports ITRealms.

“Our men has foiled an attempt by some men to plant explosive device in one of the Polling Stations in Enugu,” official source of Enugu State Police declared on Twitter without further details.

But ITRealms gathered that according to the Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr Dan Bature, the explosion occurred through a device hidden under a Honda car at about 7am.

He confirmed that an explosion, Saturday rocked a polling unit at the Women Training Center (WTC) Primary School in Ogui-Enugu at the early hours as voters prepared to file out for the presidential and National Assembly elections.

Also, the  News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quoted Mr. Bature, as saying that the Police also detonated three other bombs hidden under cars in the premises.

He said there were no arrests and that no motives had been established as there is no casualty.

Also speaking, the Commandant of the Civil Defence Corps in Enugu State, Mr Steven Lar, said there were traces of blood at the scene, but no corpses or injured persons on site.

Just as NAN reports that accreditation of voters had since commenced at the centre.
