Newly elected House of Representatives members
under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Wednesday in Abuja
convened a forum under the aegis of New House of Representatives Members Forum
to unveil their agenda for smooth running of the eighth Assembly,ITRealms reports.
Addressing journalists in Abuja Wednesday, the
forum convener, Mohammed Mahmud, who is also a Representative-elect for
Agaie/Lapai Federal Constituency of Niger State, noted that through the forum
the new legislators could discover broader ranges of issues that would impact
the House, thereby setting the pace for a unified Assembly ready to hit the
ground running.
ITRealms also
gathered that the new representatives have equally made a pledge to ensure that
the next lower chamber witness, peace and unity, while promising to make a
difference in the incoming legislature by charting course for excellence.
The new lawmakers said the forum would provide a
veritable platform for members to learn how to conduct legislative business
with a view to ensuring a rancor-free House.
The group also stated that they were looking
forward to developing and expanding working relationships, agreements, and
proposing solutions to common challenge,ITRealms.
