The first three
contestants to move to the top-12 stage of the on-going Etisalat- sponsored
Nigerian Idol season 5, have emerged, reports ITRealms.
The three
contestants, ITRealms include Preye,
Prime and Dolu were drawn from the first
group of 10 of the top-30 contestants, who were not only the choices of
the voters, but also that of the Judges, who had predicted victory for the
contestants before the result was announced by the host of the show, IllRymz.
Commenting on the
exit of the other seven contestants, Head, Events and Sponsorship, Etisalat
Nigeria, Modupe Thani said, “It is obvious that Preye, Prime and Dolu stood out
among the first group of 10 contestants and the voters and Judges confirmed
it.”
‘‘I am also happy
with the number of votes we amassed from the audience so far and I am sure
that, the voters will make the right decisions this season and crown the best
contestant as winner of the Nigerian Idol season 5”. Thani added
Reacting to the
voting pattern, Dede Mabiaku said the audience was becoming more knowledgeable
in music and also rooting for the best talents.
“I am impressed with the outcome of today’s
eviction show. It has shown that, our task as Judges on this show is paying
off, because the viewers are making the right choices through their votes.”
Mabiaku said.
Overjoyed at
making it to the top- 12, the trio collectively expressed their appreciation to
the viewers and Judges for their votes of confidence, pledging to prove that, they deserve their spots in the
show.
The first
runner-up of the Etisalat-Sponsored Nigerian Idol season 2, Joe Anthony Ekpo
popularly known as Joe Blue ended the eviction show with the breath-taking
performance of Shadrack Nosakhare’s hit song “Always on My Mind”, to the
delight of everyone present.
The other two
groups of 10 contestants will be battling for 6 spots in the top-12, leaving
the Judges to decide on three contestants to make it to the wild card show.
This weekend, the show will air on local
television stations and cable networks like, STV, NTA, Superscreen TV, Rave TV,
Smash TV, Ooduaa TV, V Channel TV, Real Star TV, Cool TV, Wazobia TV and Wap
TV.
This season’s
winner will go home with N7.5 million cash, a brand new car and a recording
deal with Universal Music Company worth N7.5 million, amongst other prizes.
