In what seems like a pathing gift for the
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector in Nigeria, President
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) has signed the long-awaited Cybercrime bill into
law, reports ITRealms.
Reports exclusively reaching ITRealms indicated that Mr. President signed
this Act on Friday, May 15 at Aso Villa late afternoon.
This is a much clamoured cybercrime law has
suffered set back in scaling through the National Assembly since early days of
return of democracy in the country.
Our source, also told ITRealms that this is commendable and
passes as another demonstration of political goodwill by the outgoing
president, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
ITRealms recalled that the first was the conceding defeat to an opposition party at the just concluded presidential election by a sitting president, which earned President Jonathan acclaimed global statesman.
