Kaduna-based
businessman in Kaduna State, Mukaila B. Hamza has emerged the first winner of
one million naira in Skye Bank’s ‘Reach for the Skye Millionaire Reward’ scheme,
tagged, ‘Retail Transformation and Growth’, R-TAG, from electronic draw of over 400, 000 new retail banking customers,
reports ITRealms.
Hamza,
a former Mainstreet Bank account holder, while receiving a surprise
congratulatory phone call made to the winner by Managing Director/Chief
Executive Officer of the bank, Mr. Timothy Oguntayo, urged him to invest his
reward wisely and continue his loyalty to the bank.
Speaking
earlier at the launch of the project in Lagos, Mr. Oguntayo, assured that the
new business transformation project would bring about customized and
needs-satisfying financial solutions in a manner that will exceed the
expectations of the customers.
“Our
renewed drive and focus on retail banking is anchored on the premise of
building a long lasting relationship with our customers based on trust as well
as supporting the financial inclusion drive of the CBN so as to bring a lot
more people into the financial system and the formal economy,” he said.
The
Executive Director, South-South, South-East and Retail Banking, Mrs. Ibiye
Ekong said that the ‘Reach for the Skye Millionaire Reward’ scheme was
instituted by the bank to encourage savings culture amongst the mass market
segment.
“Skye
Bank is not just encouraging customers to save, but we are also rewarding
customers for doing this. In the end, the scheme is a win-win for both our
esteemed customers and Skye Bank as we seek to grow our customer base,” she
said.
Each
month, she said, during the monthly draws, three customers would emerge
millionaires, while 10 others would be rewarded with 200, 000 naira each as consolation
prizes for having at least a minimum opening balance of 2, 000 naira with the
bank within that month.
