The
Nigeria’s House of Representatives displayed their trademark today, Thursday,
when the honourables engaged one another in a free-for-all fight bringing the
business for which they were elected to its knees, reports ITRealms.
Addressing
members after every member has had a full dose of the altercation and
fisticuff, the Speaker, Hon. Dogara Yakubu, appealed to the House members to make
peace their hallmark, saying that as politicians “we promised a lot to the
electorate and constituencies in the course of our campaign, there are a lot of
expectations from the electorate. For us
in All Progressives Congress (APC) we promised change. If this House is divided
we cannot achieve or deliver on those promises.”
He further
said that as leaders the lawmakers must sit down and tackle the issues for
which they were elected, including but not restricted to insecurity, poverty,
unemployment, adding they shall sit down as leaders and resolve those issues
that led to the crisis in the House.
